Two answers matter more than the rest. First, who pays at the château: on the shared days the tastings are in the fare, while on several private days you pay each château on the day. Then which bank: Saint-Émilion's village and estates on the right, or the Médoc's road of classified growths on the left. Every tour card says both.

Are wine tastings included in Bordeaux wine tours?

Saint-Émilion or the Médoc: which should you choose?
Saint-Émilion gives you a medieval, UNESCO-listed village and its classified estates on the right bank, about 50 minutes away by van. The Médoc is the left bank's road of the 1855 growths, through Margaux, Saint-Julien and Pauillac. Some days sell both at once.
Do you need to book Bordeaux France tours in advance?
Book the shared days early for summer and September: the vans hold eight at most, and one half day needs two people to run. Private days need notice too, because the guide books each château visit ahead.
How long is a Bordeaux wine tour?
Half days run four to four and a half hours, and full days seven to nine. The e-bike days last seven and eight and a half hours, and the city walks one hour 45 minutes to three hours.
Is hotel pickup included?

Are there Bordeaux walking tours?
Yes: guided walks of about two hours by day and by night, the tourist office's own walk, and a three-hour bakery walk. They meet at the cathedral, the tourist office, Place de la Bourse and Saint-Michel.

Yes, by e-bike: one day rides from the Chartrons through the Entre-deux-Mers to Saint-Émilion, and the other drives you out first. Both include lunch, and a moderate fitness level is asked.

What does Grand Cru Classé mean in Saint-Émilion?
It is a rank in Saint-Émilion's own classification, revised every decade; the 2022 edition lists 85 châteaux. A tour sold as Grand Cru Classé visits one of them.
How far is Saint-Émilion from Bordeaux?
About 50 minutes by van each way on the tours. By train it is a TER ride and a 20-minute walk up from the station.
How far is the Médoc?

Is the Monolithic Church included on tours?

Can you visit a château without a tour?
Yes, by booking the estate's own visit. Several Pessac-Léognan châteaux are a tram or bus ride from the centre.
Are Bordeaux tours accessible for wheelchairs?
Most wine days are not: vans, cellar steps and gravel. The DS convertible listing states wheelchair-accessible transport, so ask that operator.
Do tours run on Sundays and holidays?
Most do. The Ophorus private days do not run on 25 December, 1 January or 1 May.

Some shared days need two to run and refund you if they are cancelled. Several private days need two adults.
