The first frames are the city. You look down on the Saint-Michel spire, the Garonne and
the Pont de Pierre, then see the spire again from across the river. The Grand Théâtre's
portico follows, and a tram passes below the cathedral's spires.
Then you cross to Saint-Émilion. Its bell tower rises above the vines and through autumn
leaves, and the carved door of the Monolithic Church sits under it. The Grandes Murailles
stand in the vines, a cloister's arcade shades its walk, and the village's stone roofs close
round a square.
The vineyards come next: a grass track between the rows, old vines on a bed of pebbles,
a château on a rise, and five glasses from white to sweet. Château Pichon Baron lit at dusk
opens the châteaux, and the set ends underground, in barrel cellars, one of them seen through
a glass floor.
